On December 21, 2022, our board and a friend went to Sunset Meadow for a holiday cleanup, complete with festive hats. We only collected trash for an hour, but we ended up collecting 71 pounds of litter! Most of the trash we found was just outside the parking lot; stuck between trees, bushes, and logs.
But the most exciting part of the cleanup was our surprise visitors - six deer who were strolling in the woods! I loved being able to watch the deer as I was cleaning up, but was reminded how many animals in our community live in a littered environment. After seeing the adorable deer, we were motivated to clean up their home as much as we could, and I think that we did a good job.
That was a great winter cleanup! You all look so cute!
